Are my donations tax deductible?

The BPF is a 501c3 non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.

How much of my donation goes to the project and how much goes to administration?

90% of each donation goes to the project being funded and 10% goes to the ongoing administration of the BPF including such things as web site set up and maintenance, processing fees and charges, office materials, etc.. BPF Board Members volunteer their time and talents and are not paid.

What happens to the money donated to a project that never gets fully funded?

The BPF may determine that a project is unlikely to ever get fully funded. In such a case, the BPF may redirect those donations already received to another project that is pending funding.

Can I change my donation once it has been made?

All donations are final and cannot be changed. A donor may make additional donations to the same project as frequently as they’d like and in the amounts they’d like.

What is the relationship between the City of Boulder and the Boulder Police Foundation?

The BPF is totally separate from the City of Boulder and is registered as a private non-profit organization.
