Why does it matter:
In a recent bomb threat incident on Pearl St., it took nearly 2 hours for a K9 unit from the Sheriff’s Department to arrive. In metros of similar size to Boulder across the country, Police Departments typically have 2 to 3 operating K9 units. We supplied the BPD with their own team and that team requires annual maintenance.

How will the money be used:
The $50,000 will be used to support the annual maintenance cost of a K9 Team (Officer & Dog) for one year.
